Eden Collinsworth graduated from Bennington College with a B.A. in 1975. That same year, she began her career in book publishing at Doubleday & Company. In 1976 she joined Arbor House and was named its President and Publisher in 1983. During her tenure, the company published, among others, Elmore Leonard, A.R. Gurney, Anthony Burgess and Ken Follett.
Ms. Collinsworth founded BUZZ, Inc. in 1990. Serving as its president and CEO, she launched the Los Angeles-based monthly lifestyle magazine BUZZ in 1991. With contributing editors ranging from Jan Morris and Sandra Bernhard to Edward Humes and Edmund White, BUZZ Magazine drew unanimous praise for its editorial quality from The New York Times, the Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal and Vanity Fair. In 1996, BUZZ was nominated for a National Magazine Award.Between 1995 and 1999, Collinsworth expanded BUZZ's editorial exposure by entering into agreements with National Public Radio, Paramount Studios and CBS-TV. She launched BUZZ WEEKLY, an arts and entertainment guide; established BUZZ ON-LINE; and founded BUZZ BOOKS, a St. Martin's Press imprint. Eden Collinsworth is currently a Vice President of The Hearst Corporation and its Director of Cross Media Business Development. In that position, she is responsible for identifying and pursuing development opportunities which cross all Hearst divisions, including magazines, newspapers, cable, syndication, and broadcast. Ms. Collinsworth lives in New York City with her son, Gilliam Collinsworth Hamilton. She is on the Board of Directors for Literacy Partners and co-chairs its Writers for Readers Committee. |
